A diverse team to tackle diverse problems

At sanSpore, we are more than just a team of 5 enthusiastic students. We are a collective of passionate individuals, each bringing a unique set of skills and expertise from diverse fields such as Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, and Industrial Design Engineering. Together, we form a dynamic and ambitious team united by a common purpose: to reduce pesticide use and improve lives.

Our journey began with a shared concern for the harmful impact of pesticides on our environment, crops, and ultimately, our well-being. Driven by this concern, we embarked on a mission to develop innovative solutions that would minimize the reliance on pesticides while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Drawing from our diverse academic backgrounds, we harness the power of Chemical Engineering to delve into the intricacies of pesticide formulations and seek alternatives that are environmentally friendly yet effective. Aerospace Engineering fuels our pursuit of cutting-edge sensor technology, enabling us to detect and monitor fungi with unparalleled precision. Applied Mathematics provides us with the analytical tools to analyze data, optimize algorithms, and derive valuable insights that can revolutionize the way we approach pest management. And Industrial Design Engineering ensures that our solutions are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly.

The Team

Francesco Di Giuseppe

After completing his BSc in Mathematical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano(Italy), Francesco moved to the Netherlands to purse a Masters in Applied Mathematics at TU Delft.

Matthias Mandl

Matthias obtained his BSc in Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft, and is now enrolled in a Master in Applied Mathematics at TU Delft with a specialization in Data Science.

Lander Verlinde

Lander obtained the BSc in Applied Mathematics at TU Delft. He has also attended EPFL, published with CERN, and is pursuing a MSc in Applied Mathematics.

Rebecca van den Elshout

Rebecca completed her joint degree BSc in Molecular Science and Technology at the TU Delft and the University of Leiden. After an exchange to Imperial College London, she started her MSc in Chemical Engineering at TU Delft.

Sterre Witlox

Sterre is our talented designer. After obtaining her BSc in Industrial Design, she decided to pursue her MSc in Integrated Product Design.
